What we provide:

  • Vegetable and Fruit Bags and Eggs as already described. You can mix and match, and vary the frequency of delivery.
  • Any produce not grown by us will be sourced as locally as possible, from other certified organic growers and wholesalers.

  • A network of link people and collection points (for those who cannot collect from Earth Balance). We will do our best to match you to a suitable link.
  • Month's Trial Period with no obligation to continue.
  • A Members' Pack, for those who sign up to continue to receive bags beyond their trial. This contains more information about the Scheme, organic growing, storage tips, a key to the more unusual vegetables and recipes. We will be issuing additional sheets from time to time so that the Handbook can build into a good reference source. These are in the process of being revamped, but we will get them distributed as soon as possible.

  • A regular newsletter, The Marigold, including recipes, articles and what's-on information.

Why we are doing this:

  • To give you healthy, vital, fresh organic produce with great flavour.
  • To cut down on food miles (over 70% of organic produce sold in this country is imported).
  • To promote local growers and co-operatives.
  • To encourage sustainability, helping to pass on a better world for our children.
  • To help build a network of like-minded people who care about the planet.

What we ask from you:

  • That you pick up your bag promptly from your nominated collection point, i.e. Earth Balance or from a link person living near you. Please use the signing sheet provided to record that you've got your bag(s).
  • Please remember that you will be going to the Link Person's own home - so be considerate, and keep to your agreed time. If you can't avoid collecting late please let your Link Person know, otherwise, after 48 hours, uncollected bags will be disposed of in an appropriate way.
  • Please keep in good communication with the office. We want to hear as soon as possible if you are having problems or if you have any questions. We also want to hear if something is particularly good! We are constantly trying to improve the scheme and our service, and feedback from you is the best place to start!
  • Payment in advance. After your trial this would be usually be by monthly standing order. Alternative lump sum payment is welcomed by arrangement.
  • You will be reimbursed for bags cancelled for any reason if you have given us sufficient notice, by midday the Thursday the week before the date in question, that you do not require a bag on a certain week or weeks. (We need to make any orders a week in advance.)
  • Please return carrier bags (and punnets when used) to your link person or Earth Balance to be re-used. Rinse beforehand with clean water if muddy inside.

Does that sound like a good deal?
